Bio

My name is Nathan Adams and I'm a restaurant manager from the Chicagoland area. I have a Bachelor's degree in literature from Indiana University and I've been devouring movies since I was old enough to work a remote. The first films to really catch my attention were the early blockbusters and genre classics of the 80s. My formative young mind was hardened into icy steel thanks to the influence of our generation's greatest men. Indiana Jones, Marty McFly, John Rambo, the Predator—they all played a part in making me who I am today. My deeper appreciation for film, and the beginning of my interest in the people who make them, came, very predictably, during early adolescence. I was 13-years-old in 1994 and at that point the indie movement was up and running at full speed. During my trips to the theater that year I saw films like Clerks, Pulp Fiction, Léon, and Ed Wood all in rapid succession, and suddenly my life was different. There was hair in my armpits and I was cinematically aware.

While searching for a way to more constructively use my free time in January of 2010, I decided that it made sense to merge my college experience with essay writing and my longtime love of the cinema in order to write film reviews. Since starting this blog I've both increased the number of reviews I write here as well as branched out further onto the web by writing regular content for Film School Rejects. I see film blogging as a way of strengthening my understanding of and deepening my love for the movies, as well as a convenient way of sharing my viewpoints with anyone who may be interested. Which, if you've read this far, is clearly you. Thanks for that.
